December 1st closing date for MFR agency enrollments
"The Alberta MFR Program will wrap up agency enrollments on December 1, 2016. This will conclude a 20-month enrollment phase and allow the MFR team to focus on developing further training and quality assurance supports for MFR agencies and responders across the province." Blaine Barody, Manager Alberta MFR
"As AHS is responsible for patient care across Alberta, we need all fire service organizations to be part of the MFR network so that we can ensure minimum standards are being met, for sharing important information (for example making sure responders are well informed during a pandemic emergency), and so your agency can access program supports. It is crucial for agencies that wish to respond to medical emergencies in their community to complete MFR enrollment by December 1, 2016. As the Provincial Medical Director for MFR activity, it is my expectation that agencies responding to medical emergencies in our communities will work with the MFR Program to complete enrollment ahead of the December 1st timeline." Dr. Kevin Hanrahan, MFR Provincial Medical Director
Agencies that wish to respond to medical emergencies in their community must complete MFR enrollment before Dec 1, 2016.
Supports are available for agencies that have completed MFR enrollment. These supports include Medical Direction, Medical Control Protocols, Patient Care Report and Quality Assurance process, as well as access to minor equipment and training supports to name a few. Contact the MFR team for more information and to begin the enrollment process.
