2019 EMS Clinical Symposium


2019 EMS Clinical Symposium is presented in each of the 5 zones with 2 dates each.  This excellent learning opportunity will showcase presentations from our Medical Directors, AHS Learning & Development, Quality & Patient Safety, and Allied Healthcare practitioners. 

The EMS Clinical Symposiums provide an opportunity for practitioners to learn from the presentations and to mingle with fellow practitioners in a social environment. Join us for the 2019 Symposium!


Who is Eligible?

Medical First Responders that are registered with the Alberta College of Paramedics (EMR, PCP or ACP) and their agency has completed enrollment with the Medical First Response Program.

Why should you attend?

Participants who attend the full day can claim 7 hours of professional development with the College of Paramedics.  The symposiums will showcase presentations from Medical Directors, representatives from AHS Learning & Development, Quality & Patient Safety, and Allied Healthcare practitioners.

*Note:  EMS Clinical Symposiums are focused primarily on the EMS ground ambulance practitioner.  However; Medical First Responders that are registered with the Alberta College of Paramedics are welcome to participate in this continuing education opportunity in support of their practice permit renewal requirements.

Registration deadline is one week prior to each symposium date

October 21 – Peace River - Addictions and Mental Health Services, Powell Building 2nd Floor


September 12 – NAIT Productivity Innovation Center 
September 24 – NAIT Productivity Innovation Center 

Central Zone

September 30  – Red Deer Hospital – Auditorium 
October 4        – Red Deer Hospital – Auditorium 


September 26 – Peter Lougheed Hospital Auditorium 
October 8       – Foothills Hospital Auditorium 

South Zone

October 2    – Lethbridge Chinook Hospital – County Hall 
October 16  – Medicine Hat Hospital – Level 3 Lecture theatre 

Times for all of the dates: 08:30-15:30h 

Registration 08:00 - 08:30h
The Symposium begins at 08:30h

Cost:  $50 (lunch is provided)
