2018 EMS Clinical Symposiums
EXCELLENCE IN PATIENT CARE
Who is Eligible?
Medical First Responders that are registered with the Alberta College of Paramedics (EMR, PCP or ACP) and their agency has completed enrollment with the Medical First Response Program.
Why should you attend?
Participants who attend the full day can claim 30 professional development credits with the College of Paramedics. The symposiums will showcase presentations from Medical Directors, representatives from AHS Learning & Development, Quality & Patient Safety, and Allied Healthcare practitioners.
Topics: OLMC Audit; Fluid Resuscitation in Major Burns and Penetrating Trauma; End Tidal CO2 in Pediatric Patients; Medical Assistance in Dying; Refusal of Care; Spinal Motion Restriction; Trauma and Destination Criteria; Patient Experience; Mobile Integrated Health; Infectious Diseases relevant to EMS; Elder Abuse (topics are subject to change without notice).
*Note: EMS Clinical Symposiums are focused primarily on the EMS ground ambulance practitioner. However; Medical First Responders that are registered with the Alberta College of Paramedics are welcome to participate in this continuing education opportunity in support of their practice permit renewal requirements.
Registration deadline is one week prior to each symposium date.
Locations & Dates: (all presentations are similar for each date)
October 25, 2018 - Grande Prairie
Time: Check-in starts at 0800h with the symposium running 0830-1530h
Cost: $50 (lunch is provided)
Pre-payment is required for registration and payment is not accepted at the door. Personnel with access to www.ahsems.com are required to register there.
